The Cowbarn Cottage is within the Argyll region of Scotland, looking onto the Isle of Bute and the village of Tighnabruiach. This area of Scotland is well known and loved by yachtsmen so provides wonderful views of sailing boats and even the steamer The Waverley. The Cowbarn is set above two fields and the beach on Loch Riddon. |

The Cowbarn is on a quiet coastal road, now only used by other residents or sightseers. Two miles away is the village of Colintraive with a hotel offering fantastic family meals as well as fine dining, a lovely village shop stocked with locally made gifts as well as necessities, the village hall and gardens and the ferry terminal for Bute

Within ½ an hour is the larger village of Tighnabruiach or the town of Dunoon, offering more shops and the usual local amenities (swimming pool, etc.) Glasgow airport is 1-½ hours away, Edinburgh 2 ½ hours.

The setting of The Cowbarn offers wonderful opportunities to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are the hills out of the back gate of the property to explore, the pebbled beach on which to watch out for seals ad waterfowl, and the coastal road for cycling and walking. The village is an easy stroll away, to enjoy a drink or meal in the hotel - take a torch for late night returning!
